ISEQ down 1.5%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was valued at 2,649.79 at 11am this morning.

This represented a fall of 42.78 points or 1.59%.

All of the major banks suffered losses this morning - AIB dropped 8c to €1.22, Bank of Ireland fell 10c to €1.40 and Irish Life & Permanent was down 15c to €2.85.

There were not too many heavy movers in either direction in other sectors. DCC and Paddy Power both rose 23c, to €14.45 and €17.39 respectively, while Irish Continental reported a loss of 26c to €10.99.
