Lloyds climbs after news of chairman stepping down
Lloyds Banking Group climbed the FTSE 100 Index leaders board today after news that Victor Blank will step down as chairman.
Blank has been a target of shareholder anger after the bank’s rescue of ailing HBOS forced it seek state support. Lloyds was 5.5p higher at 94.7p – or 6% – as it also unveiled plans to raise £4bn (€4.5bn) from investors.
