Aldi announces price cuts
Aldi has announced a series of major price reductions across all 67 of its Irish stores.
The reductions, on over 230 items, or more than one quarter of Aldi’s entire range, begin to take effect today and will be fully in place by Monday.
Aldi also announced that the strength of its Irish buying office had doubled in the past two years to 24 full time positions and continues to grow.
Over 40% of all grocery sales at Aldi are on products bought from Irish suppliers, producers and manufacturers and the company said this would grow further in the coming months.
“Aldi is committed to always providing our customers with the best value in the market. Our move today is considered, structured and sustainable and means we are now better value than ever," said Aldi Stores (Ireland) managing director Donald Mackay.
"Customers know they will get the lowest prices possible on top quality products like fresh Irish
meats, Irish dairy produce and fresh fruit and vegetables at Aldi.
“Over 40% of our grocery sales are on products we buy here in Ireland. That will continue and we are committed to buying even more, supporting local jobs and the Irish economy."
