DAA meets unions to discuss cost-cutting plan
The Dublin Airport Authority is meeting union representatives today to discuss a plan to cut costs across its operations.
Profits at the DAA - which controls Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports - were down 28% last year.
Passenger numbers are also down sharply and the authority is expected to seek hundreds of redundancies as part of its cost-cutting plan.
The DAA employs 3,200 people and is currently engaged in a massive investment to build a second terminal at Dublin Airport, which is due to open in November 2010.
