Leading Chinese regulatory affairs company CIRS is to establish its European headquarters in Dundalk, it was announced today.
The announcement was made by Dermot Ahern TD, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform.
Headquarter in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, CIRS is a regulatory affairs company providing chemical consulting services to EU and non-EU manufacturers and EU importers, ensuring compliance with new EU legislation in the chemicals sector.
"We believe that locating our European base in Ireland is very strategic, based on the skills sets of Ireland’s workforce, as well as the support shown to us by Government and the business community here," said Jim Wei, director, CIRS Ireland.
The move is expected to create up to 26 high-level positions over the next 12 months.
Welcoming CIRS to Dundalk, Minister Ahern said the company's choice of Ireland, in preference to any other country across the EU, was "excellent news".
