Poor performance for ISEQ
Many of the gains of recent days were lost on the Irish Stock Exchange today as the ISEQ declined 78.09 points to 2,355.79.
All of the financials lost ground, as both Allied Irish Bank and Irish Life and Permanent both fell 8c to 97c and €2.07 respectively. Bank of Ireland was down 6c to 80c.
There were some heavy losses in most sectors, with Icon (down 63c to €12.47) the heaviest hit. CRH was not far behind, losing 62c to €16.38.
Elsewhere, DCC (down 37c to €12.38), Kerry Group (down 29c to €14.25), Merrion Pharmacies (down 34c to 3.36) and Tullow Oil (down 20c to €8.42) were the day’s other big losers.
It was not al bad news, however. After some recent turmoil, Irish Continental Group gained €1 to €14. Paddy Power enjoyed a 30c jump to €13.35.
