ISEQ slightly down

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed at 2,129.35 this evening, a fall of 37.46 points or 1.73%.

All of the major banks were reporting losses - AIB was down 9c to 55c, Bank of Ireland fell 4c to 46c and Irish Life & Permanent slipped 12c to €1.

Elsewhere, results were mixed. Kerry Group and Origin Enterprises both gained 20c, finishing at €14.40 and €1.75 respectively; Merrion Pharmaceuticals dropped by the same amount to €3.85 and Glanbia fell 18c to €2.03.
