The managing director of drinks group C&C's cider operations in Britain is to resign, the company announced today.

John Holberry, who joined the company in 2008 from Coors Brewers Ltd, has indicated that he will step down from the Board and his executive position at C&C in August 2009, a statement said.

C&C manufactures Bulmers cider for the Irish marker and Magners cider for export, as well as spirits and liquers including Tullamore Dew.

“I have enjoyed working in C&C and building the Magners GB team over the last year. However the appointment of the new management team, headed by John Dunsmore, reduces the opportunities for me to develop my career," Holberry said.

"I will be working with John over the coming months to ensure a successful transition and wish him and all the C&C team every success in the future.”
