Barclays led the FTSE 100 Index to gains of almost 3% today as London’s blue-chip stocks kept up their recent momentum.

Barclays led the FTSE 100 Index to gains of almost 3% today as London’s blue-chip stocks kept up their recent momentum.

The banking giant soared to gains of almost 23% after confirming talks to sell part of its fund management business to strengthen its finances.
