Chambers Ireland calls for swift cuts in energy prices
Business chiefs today called for energy prices to be slashed by more than 10% in a bid to boost spending and restore confidence in the economy.
Chambers Ireland accused the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) of not moving fast enough in restoring competitiveness.
Taoiseach Brian Cowen said he had directed Minister for Energy Eamon Ryan to bring about a 10 to 15% cut in energy prices, to be implemented in the coming months.
