Ryanair demands EGM of Aer Lingus shareholders

Ryanair has demanded an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at Aer Lingus, amid ongoing controversy over its takeover bid.

It follows revelations that Aer Lingus boss Dermot Mannion has secured a new contract that will pay him a €2.8 million bonus if he leaves the airline following a hostile takeover from Ryanair.

The no-frills airline said that it is deeply concerned by the move, and wants the issue addressed immediately.
