Govt turns down Waterford Wedgewood’s request for loan
A request for the state to underwrite a bank loan for Waterford Wedgewood, to help the company stay in business, has been turned down.
The firm had appealed to government to guarantee a €39m bank loan in order to secure the future of 550 jobs at the plant.
