Guinness workers to begin voting in strike ballot
Workers at Guinness are reportedly set to begin voting today on industrial action that could include an all-out strike at the St James's Gate brewery in Dublin.
Reports this morning say the Guinness Staff Union will begin balloting its members due to a dispute over redundancy terms.
The company has reportedly revised the terms of a redundancy deal on offer as part of a restructuring plan to could see up to 300 jobs being lost.
GSU members have already voted by 98% to reject the revised redundancy terms, but the union says Guinness has refused to enter into negotiations on the changes.
