Top executives enjoyed 7.1% pay rise in past year

reland's top businessmen enjoyed an average pay rise of 7.1% in the 12 months up to June this year, according to the latest report from the Irish Management Institute.

The figures show that the top 6,200 executives in the country enjoyed wage increases well above the inflation rate of 4.9% for the same period.

Almost 80% of these top earners were men.

The IMI says the highest paid CEOs come from the IT sector, were their salaries averaged €312,000.
