Coco pops cereal in peanut allergy scare
Kellogg’s recalled a batch of its Coco Pops Creations today due to peanut contamination.
It is warning peanut allergy sufferers not to eat the affected breakfast cereal.
Kellogg’s has contacted allergy support groups, which will tell their at-risk members about the recall.
Coco Pops Creations is described as a pick ’n’ mix cereal pack containing Kellogg’s Coco Pops, Crunchers, Coco Rocks and Mega Munchers.
Only packs with a best before date of May 13 2008 sold in the UK and Ireland are being recalled.
“Kellogg’s has a strict quality control process in place and we take issues regarding food safety extremely seriously,” the firm said in a statement.
Peanut allergy sufferers are being asked to return the bottom section of the cereal pack with date code to Kellogg’s for a refund.
