UK holidaymakers put in false insurance claims worth hundreds of pounds – often saying they have a clear conscience because they have never made a claim before, according to a new report today.

A survey of almost 5,000 adults by Direct Line showed that one in 10 admitted increasing the value of their claim, while one in 20 had added extra items.
