ICI bidder to get more time

Dulux paint maker and chemicals giant ICI is today reportedly set to give Dutch suitor Akzo Nobel more time to come up with a formal bid for the group.

ICI is believed to be planning to ask the Takeover Panel for an extension to today’s “put up or shut up” deadline, imposed last month after Akzo first approached the firm in June.
