Sky record good growth in Ireland

BSkyB today announced its financial results to year end June 30 showing good growth for Sky in Ireland.

Subscribers to Sky Digital increased by 70,000 to 497,000 in the year, representing the highest net increase in five years. In the period since 1st July, Sky has passed 500,000 digital satellite customers in Ireland.

Across the UK and Ireland, the total number of Sky’s direct-to-home (DTH) digital satellite subscribers increased by 406,000 in the year to 8.582 million. Sky+ customers grew by 821,000 to 2.374 million, representing 28% of the customer base.
