Drinks group Britvic today said it planned to spend £170m (€249m) on some of Ireland’s leading brands, including Ballygowan bottled water.

The deal with Magners cider owner C&C also adds fizzy drinks range Club and the franchise for distributing 7Up and Pepsi products in Ireland.

Britvic, which owns Robinsons, Tango and Fruit Shoot, hopes to complete the deal by the end of August.
