McDowell warns against complacency on economic success

Tánaiste Michael McDowell, is warning the Irish public not to become complacent about the country's economic success.

Speaking at a function organised by Galway Chamber of Commerce last night, the PD leader said 15 years of growth should not prevent Ireland from aiming even higher.

"There are reasons to believe that a sense of complacency is overcoming our sense of confidence," he said.

"As a society, some people are saying the economy is fixed, the economic revolution is achieved, now is the time to go on to other issues.

"Nothing could be further from the truth."
