The FTSE 100 Index finished deep in negative territory today as results from a host of blue-chip firms failed to inspire the London market.

The FTSE 100 Index finished deep in negative territory today as results from a host of blue-chip firms failed to inspire the London market.

The Footsie closed 32.1 points lower at 6412.3 after the London market mirrored a lacklustre performance from markets across Europe.
