Figures showing stronger wage growth in the UK for the past three months heaped more pressure on the Bank of England today ahead of its next meeting.

Payment services firm Voca said Christmas bonuses and the the latest round of pay negotiations meant its Take Home Pay Index recorded an increase in January, with wages over the last three months up 3.3% annually.
