Construction workers seek equality with PAYE employees
Construction workers are protesting outside the Revenue Commissioners' offices in Dublin today to demand equality with regular PAYE employees.
The demonstration has been arranged by the Building and Allied Trades Union, which is demanding an end to the use of C45 certificates on construction sites.
The union says builders employed on these certificates do not receive the same entitlements as PAYE workers.
It says it will urge members to vote for whatever party agrees to change the situation at the forthcoming general election.
