ISEQ steams ahead with Continental
The ISEQ was up slightly at 10.30am today, gaining 4.16 points to 9275.48.
Irish Continental leaped €1.10 (7.3%) to €16.20.
Things were not so rosy for Elan, which fell 60c (5.8%) to €9.70.
Glassmaker South Wharf was also on the slide, losing 35c (5%) to €6.70.
Business support services company DCC was up 45c (1.9%) at €24.40 mid-morning.
McInerney Holdings rose 20c (1.3%) to €15.80.
FBD gained 25c to €39.75.
It was a mixed morning for the financials, with Irish Life and Permanent up 9c at €20.90 and AIB up 8c at €22.13, while Anglo Irish Bank, the morning’s busiest share, slipped 3c to €15.95.
Bank of Ireland was down 1c at €17.12. The bank today launched a new loan product for developing businesses.
Kerry slid 2c to €19.70, while Independent News and Media gained 1c to €2.97.
