Intact acquires Reliable Data

Intact Software, the Dundalk-based developer of mid-range accounting and business management systems software solutions, is to set up operations in the city having acquired the Cork-based reseller Reliable Data for an undisclosed sum, according to the Evening Echo.

Reliable Data has been a reseller of the Intact software for the last four years.

Set up in 1992 by business men Paul Marry and Aidan Lawless, Intact is now the software of choice for more than 1,000 customers nationwide.

As part of the agreement, the Dundalk company will acquire and support the Intact customer database from Reliable Data and a selection of their key staff, including director Gerry Griffin.

They will now become part of the Intact group and Mr Griffin’s new role will be sales manager for the Cork office, with an emphasis on developing new business in the city and country and throughout Munster.

Paul Marry, managing director Intact Software, said: “This gives us a true national presence and adds a phenomenal cadre of quality people to the Intact group.

“This dynamic Munster and Leinster combination gives our customers an incredible array of resources to draw from regardless of where they are located,” he added.

The company will be calling on Mr Griffin’s extensive expertise of over two decades as a trained programmer/systems analyst and certified public accountant, to grow the software business.

Mr Griffin regards the Intact system as “the most flexible, most integrated, complete, and best value for money product in the marketplace”.

“Intact continues to grow from strength-to-strength and the acquisition of Reliable Data will increase their growth in the Munster market,” a company spokesperson added.
