Whitbread delivers profits hike

Strong sales at Costa Coffee and Premier Travel Inns saw owner Whitbread deliver a 20.8% increase in profits today.

Whitbread posted pre-tax profits of £109.8m (€163.7m) for the first half of the year compared with £90.9m (€135.5m) 12 months ago.
