Online gambling firm Sportingbet today said it will take a £210m (€313m) hit this year following its withdrawal from the US market in the wake of the crackdown on internet gaming.

Online gambling firm Sportingbet today said it will take a £210m (€313m) hit this year following its withdrawal from the US market in the wake of the crackdown on internet gaming.

The firm was forced to sell its US sports betting and casino business Sportsbook.com for just one US dollar hours before president George Bush approved a law banning internet cash gaming.
