ComReg announces interim solution to Smart Telecom dispute
ComReg have announced that Smart's telephone services will be restored within three days after intensive discussions with eircom.
More than 40,000 Smart customers had their services cut off last night because the company has not paid money it owes for the use of eircom's cable network.
Smart, which is believed to owe eircom more than €4m, has responded by asking the London Stock Exchange to suspend trading in its shares.
Customers will be allowed to make local calls and national calls, as well as now being able to make calls to the emergency services.
Customers may also receive incoming calls.
