Returning Irish emigrants warned of resettling costs

Twenty thousand Irish people are coming home every year as a result of our continued economic success.

But they are being warning to be aware of the costs - as well as the benefits - involved in resettling here before they take the decision.

Minister for Social Affairs Seamus Brennan says it is essential that returnees have all the up-to-date information they need to make their move home as smooth as possible.

He was speaking as he presented a cheque for €200,000 to the Emigrant Advice support service.
