Seventy eight jobs are to go at a fish factory in County Roscommon, it was revealed this afternoon.

Seventy eight jobs are to go at a fish factory in County Roscommon, it was revealed this afternoon.

Green Isle Foods announced that it was closing its fish-breading facility in Boyle this coming September. The operation will transfer to a UK facility.

The company - which produces the Donegal Catch brand - said the closure is aimed at staying competitive in the frozen fish market.

Green Isle's plants in Naas and Gurteen will not be affected.
