ISEQ slips more than 70 points
The ISEQ fell 71.6 points to 7217.69 by lunchtime today, in a difficult week for world markets.
Tullow Oil lost 42c (8.2%) to €4.69.
Bookmaker Paddy Power fell 69c (5%) to €13.00.
Irish Life and Permanent was down 65c (3.6%) at €17.60. Anglo Irish Bank fell 25c (2.2%) to €11.15.
Allied Irish Bank was the morning’s busiest share and slipped 17c to €18.03.
ISEQ ETF 20 shares were down 28c (1.9%) at €14.43.
Ryanair was one of the few that made gains, up 22c (3.3%) to €6.86.
Elan fell 32c (2.7%) to €11.68.
Construction firm McInerney Holdings dropped 30c (2.5%) to €11.80. Grafton was down 23c (2.3%) at €9.95.
CRH fell 40c (1.7%) to €23.60, while Kingspan was down 20c (1.5%) to €12.90.
Food company IAWS fell 29c (2.1%) to €13.71. Kerry Group was 30c (1.8%) in the red at €16.60.
Independent News and Media gained 1c to €2.28. The company said today early results for 2006 are in line with expectations.
Eircom was level at €2.16.
Bathroom-products company Qualceram Shires was also unchanged, at €1.30. The company today said that results for the first five months of this year had been satisfactory and expected.
