ISEQ down
The ISEQ index of shares was down 24.53 to 7900.47 at close of business today.
There were mixed results among the financials. AIB was down 15c to €18.85, while Irish Life & Permanent closed at €20.35, down 5c.
Anglo Irish was up 3c to €13.23. Meanwhile, Bank of Ireland was up 13c to €14.85 as it announced its wholly-owned subsidiary Burdale Financial Ltd has established a presence in the US.
Its US business will be conducted through Bank of Ireland’s US Representative Office in Greenwich, CT under the name Burdale Capital Finance.
A new US-based team will offer senior secured asset-based loans in the $10m-$60m (€8m-€47.5m) range with the capability to structure loans of up to $200m (€158m). Financing will be provided for early and mid-stage turnarounds, restructurings, leveraged buyouts and general refinancings.
