Lloyds TSB names new chairman

Banking group Lloyds TSB today ended an 18-month search for a new chairman by announcing the appointment of City grandee Sir Victor Blank.

Lloyds TSB confirmed widespread speculation fuelled by news earlier this week that Blank is to stand down as chairman of newspaper group Trinity Mirror.

He will take on the role when current incumbent Maarten van der Bergh retires at this year’s annual meeting in May.
