Alitalia protests continue amid bankruptcy warning

Alitalia expected cancellations or delays for as many as 250 flights today as workers continued wildcat protests, while the Italian labour minister warned that the government would not bail out the troubled airline.

Though unions called off a 24-hour strike for today, Alitalia workers picketed at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport, gathering around fires in the early morning cold.
