New boss for BoI corporate banking
Bank of Ireland has appointed head of specialised finance Tom Hayes as chief executive to its corporate banking division following Richie Boucher’s move to the top spot in retail financial services, Ireland.
Hayes, who holds a degree in banking and finance from University College Dublin, joined the group in 1979 and has held a number of positions in retail banking. He joined corporate banking in 1989 and was appointed as head of leveraged acquisition finance in 2000 where he led the transformation of the business into one of the key players in the European and US markets.
