DAA welcomes Ryanair expansion plans
The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) has welcomed today's announcement of a planned increase in Ryanair's route network and passenger traffic at Dublin Airport.
From April 2006 the airline will base five new Boeing 737-800 series aircraft in Dublin. These new aircraft will allow Ryanair to open up 18 new routes from Dublin to Continental Europe, generating over 250 direct Ryanair jobs.
In a statement, the DAA said it "welcomes Ryanair's commitment to work with the company to support the delivery of Dublin Airport's EUR1.2bn framework development plan within the challenging timeframe set out by the Government and its support for the alleviating measures the airport must take until significant new capacity comes on stream."
