ISEQ passes 7,000 threshold
The Dublin stock exchange finished the week in positive fashion as it reached the 7,000 threshold.
After a strong day's trading the ISEQ rose 61.31 to 7,002.08 points by the end of the day.
The major riser of the day was DCC, the business support services group, who saw their stock climb 41c to €16.25.
Construction followed suit with both CRH and Grafton making gains - CRH were up 23c to €23.01 and Grafton rose 30c to €8.32.
All the financials were in positive territory also with Irish Life and Permanent climbing 41c to €16.11. Bank of Ireland rose 21c to €13.42, AIB rose three cents to €18.61 and Anglo Irish Bank rose 11c to €11.88.
Ryanair soared 14c to €7.50 following their announcement of a new route from Dublin to Lodz, the second largest city of Poland.
The new route starts on April 4 next year and will operate twice weekly.
Elsewhere, shipping group Irish Continental sailed into a 25c rise to €9.90, while Jurys climbed 20c to €18.75.
Ulster Television were one of the few shares that suffered losses, falling 35c to €6.20.
