London Stock Exchange in merger talks

The London Stock Exchange was today reported to have held talks with Swedish counterpart OMX about a merger and a range of other potential tie-ups.

It is understood the discussions began in the summer after the LSE was approached about a takeover by German rival Deutsche Boerse and other parties also expressed an interest.
