ISEQ down as Jurys plummets
The ISEQ index closed down 21.29 points today at 6638.49.
Jurys Doyle fell a massive 95c (5.3%) to €16.90, following news that AIB withdrew funding for Precinct’s takeover bid for the hotel group. It also emerged today that major Jurys shareholder Sean Dunne will not be allowed to vote at next month’s EGM. Jury's was the day's busiest share.
AIB was down 1c at €17.51, while Irish Life and Permanent slipped 3c to €14.77.
Irish Life and Permanent today quoted its 2004 after-tax profits under the new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and European Embedded Value (EEV) as €48m.
Bank of Ireland dropped 10c to €12.75 and Anglo Irish Bank closed down 2c at €10.96.
Eircom closed down 5c (2.8%) at €1.75. The company revealed pre-tax profits of €77m for the three months to the end of June this year.
Business support services company DCC slipped 20c (1.1%) to finish the day at €18.20.
CRH closed down 7c at €22.03. Paddy Power was up 5c at €15.55 at the end of the day.
Tullow Oil finished unchanged at €3.08. The exploration company announced that natural gas production from its Munro field development started on Monday.
