The Small Firms Association has called for the introduction of a permanent migration system to combat labour shortages.

The Small Firms Association has called for the introduction of a permanent migration system to combat labour shortages.

SFA assistant director Patricia Callan made the call at the launch of its submission to the Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform on a National Policy on "Immigration and Residence" in Ireland.

"Our economy has grown substantially over the last number of years, and Irish people must be willing to share the spoils with those who have contributed so much to this economic development," stated Callan.
