Oil prices hit a new high today after markets were unsettled by the US government shutting its embassy in Saudi Arabia because of security concerns.

Oil prices hit a new high today after markets were unsettled by the US government shutting its embassy in Saudi Arabia because of security concerns.

The US said the closure of its diplomatic base in Riyadh and consulates in Jiddah and Dhahran today and tomorrow was ā€œin response to a threat against US government buildingsā€.
