250 jobs at risk as firm considers closing Dundalk plant
Two hundred and fifty jobs are reportedly at risk in Dundalk, Co Louth following a decision by a technology firm to consider closing its plant in the town.
Reports this morning said Quantum was considering the move as part of a review of its European operations.
Yesterday, the cigarette company PJ Carroll and Co said it was planning to close its factory in Dundalk, with the loss of 66 jobs.
This morning's reports said the local council of trade unions was seeking an urgent meeting with the Government to get alternative employment for the area.
