ComReg to cap phone companies' 'termination charges'
The Communications Regulator has announced plans to cap the charges that telephone companies pay to mobile operators for calls connected to their networks.
The move could lead to a reduction in consumers' phone bills as so-called "termination rates" are currently factored into the cost of phone calls.
ComReg said it was planning to collect accounting data from mobile phone firms to establish at what level the charges should be capped.
