Ministers re-affirm commitment to All-Island energy market

The Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey, and his Northern Ireland counterpart, Angela Smith met today in Limavady and reaffirmed their commitment to the All-Island Energy Market and the importance of the Single Electricity Market (SEM).

The establishment of the SEM by July 2007 has been identified as a key priority and the Ministers restated their commitment to do their utmost to ensure matching legislation needed to underpin the SEM will be enacted in both jurisdictions within that timescale.
