ISEQ down, financials performing poorly

The ISEQ index fell 22.1 points this morning to 6366.13.

The financials performed poorly. Bank of Ireland fell 24c (1.8%) to €12.85. Anglo Irish Bank was down 15c (1.5%) at €9.85.

Irish Life and Permanent fell 13c to €13.90, while AIB, the morning’s busiest share, was down 3c at €17.05.

Insurance group FBD fared better, gaining 20c to €24.00.

Beverages group C&C rose 6c (1.8%) to €3.48.

Ryanair was up 6c at €6.51, following news that it had been named top-performing medium airline in the world in a trade magazine.

Business support services company DCC was down 4c at €16.31 on the day it announced it has bought entertainment company Pilton for €35.4m.
