Half Irish workers want to change jobs - survey

A survey has found that workers in Ireland have itchy feet regarding their present position and nearly half of us plan to change job this year.

47% of those surveyed have told monster.ie, an Irish jobs website, they would like a change of post as soon as possible, while a fifth of respondants are currently thinking about it.

Fiona Sexton, an employee with the website, said workers can also name their price.

"The message coming out loud and clear at the moment is that the job seekers market and employers need to make sure that they know that are competing for the best in the market," she said.

"They need to know that they have to offer good competitive salaries and the right conditions if they want to get the best people because they are more jobs than job seekers at the moment."
