The ISEQ index of shares fell 6.07 points to close at 6207.58 tonight.

Television company, Ulster Television, was the big loser today as it saw its stock tumble 38c to €6.52.

Bookmaker Paddy Power today announced it has teamed up with this year’s Big Brother to be the reality TV show’s official betting partner. Its share price fell 1c to 13.39 today.

Bank of Ireland had a shaky start to the day and closed down 12c at 12.58. Anglo Irish Bank fell five cents to €9.82, Irish Life and Permanent stayed unchanaged at €13.55. AIB bucked the trend to close up 6c at €16.72.

Meanwhile, Lapp Plats plc has been admitted to the Irish Enterprise Exchange, the new market for small to mid-sized companies launched by the Irish Stock Exchange in April this year.

Lapp Plats is the first new company to list on IEX since its launch and brings to nine the number of companies listed on the new exchange.

Lapp Plats’ business and strategy is to develop its existing platinum and nickel exploration portfolio and seek out acquisition and development opportunities in the broader resource sector, encompassing minerals, metals, oil and gas.
