Forum discusses educational value of computer gaming
Whether computer games can help children in learning new skills is the subject of a debate to be held today in Dublin's Digital Hub.
There is an increasing interest in using gaming technologies as a new resource to support learning.
The Learning Through Gaming Talk Digital will examine how this powerful new medium might be used to support children's learning.
Panellists will include Anna Fitzgibbon, TCD Centre for Research in IT in Education, Tony Kelly, Irish Games Developers Association, Stephen Heppell, National College of Ireland, and Michael Hallissy, Director of Learning, The Digital Hub.
The discussion will take place today from 4pm to 5.30pm in the Diageo Liberties Learning Studio on Thomas Street in the Digital Hub in Dublin. It is open to the public and is free.
