Cable merger could create strong competitor to Sky

Cable operators Ntl and Telewest are heading towards agreement on their long-awaited £5.5bn (€8.1m) merger, it was reported today.

Telewest will meet with investment banks in New York this week to finalise a line-up of advisers for the merger, according to the Sunday Times.
