O’Donoghue launches plan to attract more British tourists
Minister for Tourism John O'Donoghue has launched a €14m plan to attract more tourists from Britain.
Mr O'Donoghue said the money would be spent this year on promoting Ireland as a holiday destination for Britons.
British tourists make up 60% of all visitors to Ireland, but their numbers have been falling in recent years, mainly due to concerns about the cost of holidaying in Ireland.
The campaign launched today will focus on women and families rather than promoting Irish pub culture to young British men.
